Fancy a spot of golf in a realm that’s more Dante than Augusta? Well, grab your clubs and slip on your loudest trousers, because we’re off to The Nether Realm 3, the latest gem in PGA Tour 2K23’s Fantasy Course series.

This digital masterpiece, plucked from the fevered imagination of a course designer who’s clearly been at the whisky decanter. And cor blimey, it’s a belter!

From the off, you’re treated to a smorgasbord of risk-reward par 4s that’ll have you pondering whether to channel your inner Seve Ballesteros or play it safe like a vicar at a church picnic. The scenery? Absolutely stunning, old chap. You’ll be gawping at the vistas when you should be lining up your putt.

Our intrepid reviewer, fuelled by what sounds suspiciously like an energy drink at the crack of dawn (tsk tsk), managed to card a respectable 9-under 62. Not too shabby for a chap nursing a gammy knee! He rattled in birdies like they were going out of fashion and even managed a few bunker hole-outs that would make Gary Player weep with envy.

But it wasn’t all plain sailing. Our hero came a cropper on one hole, carding a double bogey that stuck out like a sore thumb on an otherwise blemish-free scorecard. Still, that’s golf for you – one minute you’re on cloud nine, the next you’re in the rough questioning your life choices.

The verdict? This course is more fun than a barrel of monkeys at a banana factory. Every hole is a joy, with enough elevation changes and rocky outcrops to make you wonder if you’ve stumbled onto the set of “The Flintstones: Golf Edition”.

So, there you have it, folks. The Nether Realm 3 is a must-play for any serious virtual golfer. It’s so good, our reviewer is chomping at the bit to take on his mate Joe in a head-to-head match. Now that’s a showdown we’d pay good money to see!
